Cântec simplu

Fruntea încruntată

Nu- i ceva frumos.

E norul ce ascunde

Tot ce-i luminos.

Zambetu- i desigur

Floare înflorită,

Mângâiere blândă

In lumea rătăcită.

Nu mai du povara

Gândului amar!

De ce sa te chinui,

Când totu-i in zadar?

Ridica- ți privirea

Viața e senina.

Dacă lași lumina 

In ochii tai sa vina.

Nu privi în urma

Lasă tot ce-a fost

Fericirea-i simpla

N-are nici un cost.

Lasă dimineața

Să te- mbratiseze

Soarele pe frunte

Blând sa se așeze.

Lasă să răsară

Soarele- n priviri!

Hai, fa-le pierdute

Tristele- amintiri.

A furrowed brow

Is not something fair.

It’s the cloud that hides

The light shining there.

A smile, for certain,

Is a blossomed flower,

A gentle touch

In a lost world’s hour.

I no longer carry

A bitter thought’s weight!

Why torment yourself

When all is in vain?

Lift up your gaze,

Life is clear and bright.

If you let the light

Fill your eyes with sight.

Don’t look behind,

Let the past drift away,

Happiness is simple,

It asks for no pay.

Let the morning come

And embrace you tight,

Let the sun rest gently

On your brow, so light.

Let the sun rise

In your eyes anew!

Come, let go

Of the sorrows you knew.
